Repentance and Forgiveness
Psalm 32:5

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I did not hide; I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD"; And You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah.” Psalm 32:5 NASB

Repentance involves acknowledging the sin to God. The wrong, the iniquity cannot be hidden or covered up. The transgression must be openly confessed, agreeing with God that the deed was sin and rebellion against God. This confession embodies a turning away from the sin to walk in God’s ways. It is a change of heart and attitude toward the sin that results in a change of action and deed in obedience to God. Confession and repentance lead to forgiveness and restoration. Selah means to think on these truths.

Lord Jesus, my sin, my guilt has been forgiven, cleansed by Your blood because of Your great mercy and grace.
