Character Traits: Peace
Galatians 5:22-23

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 NASB

More than just the absence or cessation of violence and conflict, peace is a deep serenity and calming sense of well-being that comes from trust in God, His sovereignty and His salvation. While formally in rebellion against God and facing condemnation because of his sin, the believer, having been justified and made righteous through Christ, now has peace with God. This peace with God guides the believer to seek peace and harmony and to live in right relationship with others.

Lord Jesus, I calmly rest in Your almighty power and redeeming gospel. May Your peace, which surpasses all comprehension, flood over my life.
