A Steadfast Heart
Psalm 57:7
The Upward Look
by Max D. Hutto,
“My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises!” Psalm 57:7 NASB
Standing in the very midst of overwhelming trial and trouble, David places his trust, his confidence, in God. His faith demonstrates no wavering or deviation. David is firmly grounded, unshakable, and sure in his trust in God, his only hope. Knowing that God will strengthen and comfort him, David bursts out in song praising God. Worship is an outflow of a heart that trusts confidently and steadfastly in God, in His mercy, grace, and love.
Lord Jesus, what a blessed assurance to know that You are my Savior, my Redeemer, my Refuge, and my Strength. Even in the midst of troubles, I lift my voice in praise, glorifying You.
