Steadfast Love
Psalm 32:10
The Upward Look
by Max D. Hutto,
“Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the LORD.” Psalm 32:10 ESV
In this Psalm, David draws a contrast between the wicked and the righteous. The wicked is the person who has not confessed and acknowledged his sin, who has not repented and turned away from sin, and who does not listen to the instruction and counsel of God and His Word. Because of his iniquity the wicked will experience sorrow, pain, and grief. In contrast, the one who trusts in the Lord, who has repented and turned away from sin, and who follows the instruction of God, will be surrounded by God’s steadfast, faithful mercy and love.
Lord Jesus, I trust in You, my Savior and Redeemer. I am sustained, comforted, and encompassed by Your unwavering, unfaltering grace and love.
