“Who executes justice for the oppressed; Who gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets the prisoners free.” Psalm 146:7 NASB

In contrast to sinful human nature that exploits the lowly and downcast, the Lord God is worthy of our praise because He is compassionate and cares for those who cannot care for themselves. God, by His very nature, is just and righteous. He provides a way to overcome the power of evil and injustice. God is the sustainer of all life and provides food for our nourishment. Those in prison can find freedom through God who breaks the chains of sin that binds the hearts and souls of all mankind. Our physical troubles mirror our spiritual need, which only God can satisfy.

Lord Jesus, in You I find freedom from sin and death. I find holiness and righteousness that purifies and satisfies the longings of my soul in You, my Hope and my Help.
