“How blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, Whose hope is in the LORD his God.” Psalm 146:5 NASB

Blessed and happy is the person who trusts in the Lord God. It is the God of Jacob who helps those, in spite of their past failures and weaknesses, who turn to Him for help. Jacob had schemed, swindled, and manipulated others, but God kept pursuing him. During a wrestling match with God, Jacob finally repented and trusted God. God kept His covenant promises with the patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, by blessing and helping them and their children.

Lord Jesus, You are my help, my provider, my strength, my sustainer, my delight, and my joy. It is in You, my Lord God Almighty, that I place my hope and my trust.
