“Thy word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against Thee.” Psalm 119:11 NASB

God's Word is like a priceless treasure tucked away in a safe place. One hymn writer states, “The Bible is more precious than silver or gold.” Indeed, the Bible is a great treasure, but it should not be in locked in some box or stored on a shelf for safe keeping. The safe place it should be is in one's heart and mind. The Bible should be read, studied, memorized, meditated on, and obeyed. The reason for the keeping of God's Word in one's heart is to keep from sinning by disobeying God's commands.

Lord Jesus, the Bible is indeed a great treasure. Help me to memorize it so I will be obedient to Your Word.
