“He has sent redemption to His people. He has ordained His covenant forever. His name is holy and awe-inspiring.” Psalm 111:9 HCSB

The psalmist continues to delineate why the Lord God is to be worshiped, honored, and obeyed. God had redeemed His people Israel out of captivity and slavery in Egypt. God has also redeemed His people from the captivity and slavery of sin through the sacrificial death of Jesus on Calvary’s cross. God is faithful to keep His covenant promises forever. God’s name, which represents His character, is holy and righteous and must be honored and respected in reverential fear and awe.

Lord Jesus, I bow in reverence and humbleness before You, lifting my voice in praise to You, my Holy Redeemer. Help me declare to others Your great offer of redemption.
