“He has caused His wonderful works to be remembered. The LORD is gracious and compassionate.” Psalm 111:4 HCSB

God’s works are too amazing and wonderful to be forgotten. In the Old Testament, “wonderful works” is a phrase that often refers to God’s miraculous salvation of the children of Israel from captivity in Egypt. These works foreshadow God’s crowning work of salvation on Calvary’s cross where Jesus redeemed His people from captivity in sin. Remembering God’s wonderful works causes the psalmist to praise God’s splendid character for His marvelous grace and never-ending compassion.

Lord Jesus, as I think about the salvation and eternal life You have graciously and lovingly provided for me, I marvel at Your greatness and impeccable character. I lift my voice in praise to You, my Savior and Lord!
