Thanks and Praise
Psalm 100:4

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name.” Psalm 100:4 NASB

Using vivid imagery, the psalmist describes a person entering the gates, the doors, of the temple and then proceeding into the courts, the rooms, where the people gather to worship the Lord. He enters into worship with a grateful heart, giving thanks to God for what He has done. His thanksgiving quickly progresses to praise, blessing and adoring God for who He is. The heart, the central facet, of true worship is coming into God’s presence, gratefully acknowledging His deeds, and lovingly admiring His character and attributes.

Lord Jesus, as I gather to worship with Your people, I come to praise, honor, and glorify You, my Savior and Redeemer. I bask in Your amazing grace and great love.
