“Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah.” Psalm 62:8 NASB
The Psalmist writes this wonderful psalm about trusting in God during a devastating time in his life. With trouble all around him, he encourages the people to totally rely on God. Like pouring all the water out of a pitcher, they must tell God all that is on their heart and must completely trust God for their protection. God is their refuge, strength, and salvation. The Hebrew word “Selah” is thought to mean a musical interlude allowing time for meditation on what was just said. Thus, the people were to ponder on their trust and commitment to God. During difficult times and at the beginning of a new year is the perfect time to evaluate your trust and faith in God.
Lord Jesus, only You can provide the refuge and strength I need to face the difficult days of this year. I trust in You for my needs as I seek to follow You each day.
