"Let me dwell in Thy tent forever; Let me take refuge in the shelter of Thy wings. Selah.” Psalm 61:4 NASB
David, in his time of great trouble, knows that God will protect him. Just like a hen will gather her chicks under her wings to protect them, David asks God to protect him from harm, shielding him from destruction. He wants to dwell in the tent tabernacle of God forever. This tent is the place God dwells and thus a symbol of heaven. David’s faith and trust in God assures him of a place in heaven.
Lord Jesus, thank You for preparing heaven for those who believe in You. Thank You for protecting me in times of distress.
