"Hear my cry, O God; Give heed to my prayer." Psalm 61:1 NASB

This psalm was written in a time of despair and heartache. King David was voicing his plea to God that He would hear and listen to his prayer. David was in the midst of great trouble, conflict, and deep, dark depression. His only hope was in the Lord God. He turned to God in prayer, pleading his case to the Lord Almighty, his rock and salvation.

Lord Jesus, I am thankful that in times of despair and in times of hope, that I can share my heart’s cry with You in prayer. Help me continue to voice my deepest needs and concerns to You each day.
