“In the morning, O LORD, Thou wilt hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to Thee and eagerly watch.” Psalm 5:3 NASB

The psalmist prays and spends time every morning with the Lord. Prayer is communicating one’s thoughts to God and then listening for God to speak through His Word, the Bible. The psalmist carefully arranges his prayers in order just like the priest carefully arranged the morning sacrifices in the Temple. Then the psalmist eagerly watches to see the Lord work throughout the day. Just like the psalmist, believers should spend time each morning in prayer and Bible reading and then watch to see God work throughout the day.

Lord Jesus, I love to spend time every morning with You in prayer and Bible study. Help me to consciously keep watch during the day to see You work in my life and in others’ lives.
