“LORD, You light my lamp; my God illuminates my darkness. With You I can attack a barrier, and with my God I can leap over a wall.” Psalm 18:28-29 HCSB
Remembering when he was in the darkness fighting against his enemies, David acknowledged that God had provided hope, guidance, and strength that he needed to persevere through the battle. Not knowing where to turn and what to do in the darkest hours of the struggle, God illuminated his way. For those who trust in God, no matter what the struggles and battles, God can provide the light, the direction, and the hope needed for the fight. With God’s strength, David was able to attack the enemies going over the wall as well as the obstacles that lay in the way.
Lord Jesus, I need Your light and understanding to persevere through trials I face this day. You alone are my hope and my strength, the keeper and sustainer of my life.
