No Compromise
Psalm 16:4
The Upward Look
by Max D. Hutto,
“The sorrows of those who run after another god shall multiply; their drink offerings of blood I will not pour out or take their names on my lips.” Psalm 16:4 ESV
The people who rebel and revile against God, the ungodly who hastily chase after other gods, their lives will be filled with sorrow, trouble, grief, pain, and anguish. David refuses to compromise and will not participate in the worship of false gods and false ideologies that go against God and His Word. He chooses not to be defiled by their sins. While a believer is to be salt and light in this dark and decaying world, he must not become defiled by sin. Instead he is to remain true to God and His Word, the Bible.
Lord Jesus, help me to stand firm on Your Word, to completely follow You with my whole heart devoted solely to worshiping and honoring You, my Savior.
