"And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross." Philippians 2:8 NASB

Jesus was a humble man. He was not arrogant, boastful, or proud. He willingly gave to God His total obedience. He was willing to do whatever it took to please God the Father. He was even willing to die the most horrible, cruel death on a cross. He willingly took the punishment for all the sins of the world by His death on the cross. He willingly gave His life so that whoever would believe in Him would have everlasting, abundant, eternal life. It cost Jesus His life to be obedient to God. What is it costing us to obey God?

Lord Jesus, I am amazed that You gave Your life for me and for all who would place their trust in You. Because of what You did for me, I desire to be obedient to God.
