“Now I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel.” Philippians 1:12 NIV

Looking at Paul's life from a strictly human point of view, one might say he was a complete failure for his life was filled with pain and suffering. Even as he wrote this letter, he was in a Roman prison having been falsely accused by those who were trying to kill him. However Paul was not a failure for he had followed God’s will for his life. Because Paul was willing to suffer, multitudes of people had heard of the love and grace of God and of the saving gospel of Jesus Christ.

Lord Jesus, I desire my life to be lived so that others would hear the gospel. Teach me how to live each day for Your glory and honor as I tell others about Your grace.
