Not Tomorrow, But Today

“So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34 NASB

People spend far too much time worrying about the future and not enough time living this day. Planning, setting goals, determining priorities, and preparing for the future is important and necessary, but worrying about the future is self-destructive. Worrying about tomorrow robs us of living the present day. We don’t know what troubles tomorrow will bring; therefore, we must live one day at a time.

Lord Jesus, help me not to spend this day worrying about tomorrow or future days, but to live it in a way that pleases You. Thank You for giving me this day to live.
