“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.” Matthew 6:33 HCSB

Instead of worrying, the believer is to live by this overarching principle, to seek God first, His kingdom, and His righteousness. What the believer thinks about and does each moment of every day is to be guided not by worry but by God. The Lord God is to be the sovereign King over all of one’s life. He is to be the all-consuming priority. The believer is be obedient to God’s commands and live a righteous lifestyle. God will then provide all the believer needs to carry out God’s plan in his life.

Lord Jesus, help me not to be distracted by this world and its worries, but focused wholly on You. Thank You for providing for my needs as I give You first place in my life.
