A Clear Eye
Matthew 6:22-23

“The lamp of the body is the eye; if therefore your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!” Matthew 6:22-23 NASB

Jesus uses an illustration that compares physical to spiritual sight. Through a good healthy physical eye one can see clearly, but through a bad or damaged eye one can see dimly or nothing at all. A good spiritual eye sees godly values and truths, but a spiritually bad eye sees worldly values and evil desires. A person walking in darkness cannot see or understand Jesus and godly truths because they are spiritually blinded.

Lord Jesus, You are the Light that guides me and helps me understand spiritual truth. Open my eyes and illuminate me through Your Word, the Bible.
