“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8 NASB
The sixth Beatitude describes a disciple as one who is pure in heart. Though he has sinned, he has confessed and repented of that sin, thus God has cleansed him, giving him a pure heart. He is made clean and righteous by the blood of the sacrificial Lamb of God. This disciple is living a holy and obedient life. His lifestyle is one that is pleasing in the sight of God. His sole purpose is to be devoted to God, living a righteous life. The result of this pure heart is that the disciple will see God. He will have a close, deep, and intimate fellowship with God.
Lord Jesus, thank You for cleansing me of my sin. I desire to live a pure and holy life that will deepen my relationship with You and will bring glory and honor to Your name.
