“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 NASB

Why does a believer do good works? Why does he act as salt and light before others? What is his motive for being loving, kind, and gracious? A believer does these things and much more to bring glory to God the Father. The intent is not that others see how good the believer is but to see how good God is. The goal is not self-centered but God-centered, letting God receive all the glory, honor, and praise for the good deeds the believer does.

Lord Jesus, help me to live in a way that others see Your great love and grace in my life. Let all that I do, all that I say, and all that I am bring glory and honor to You, my Lord and my God.
