“Now after Jesus was born . . . When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him . . . When they [the Magi] saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy . . . and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him.” Matthew 2:1, 3, 10, & 11 NASB

Today, as in the ancient world, the mere mention of the name Jesus Christ often brings three drastically different reactions. First, illustrated by King Herod, people are troubled, disturbed, threatened, and hostile to Jesus and His Truth. Second, illustrated by the priests and scribes, people are indifferent and apathetic which often leads to hostility. Third, illustrated by the Wise Men, people express great joy and worship Jesus as Savior and King which leads to a life of obedience to His Word. How do you respond to Jesus?

Lord Jesus, You are my Savior and Lord. Fill my life with joy as I worship You and obey Your Word.
