“So Joseph got up and took the Child and His mother while it was still night, and left for Egypt.” Matthew 2:14 NASB

A major event, like the birth of a child, often brings major changes and new beginnings to one’s life. Joseph, being obedient to God, leaves Bethlehem and his own country to make a new start in Egypt. Later this little family would again make a major move back to Israel to the town of Nazareth. The beginning of a new year can be a good opportunity to make a new start which should include obediently living out what God commands.

Lord Jesus, thank You for the opportunity to start anew. Help me to turn away from the old sinful ways and to live righteously, obeying Your Word.
