“‘Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel,’ which translated means, ‘God with us.’” Matthew 1:23 NASB

The Son has the title of “Immanuel” meaning “God is with us.” This miraculous child was conceived by a virgin and by the Holy Spirit of God. Thus, He was God coming to dwell in human form. Almighty God laid aside His glory and might and came to live among His creation. Jesus, our Immanuel, is always with those who trust in Him as He said at the end of the Gospel of Matthew, “and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” He came to show us how to live and to provide the only way to eternal life.

Lord Jesus, I am amazed and awestruck at Your coming to be with us. Help me to share this good news and eternal life with others.
