“But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.” Luke 2:19 NIV

Mary kept all the things that happened to her and the baby Jesus as a dear treasured memory. She pondered them in her heart. The word “pondered” means to carefully consider, to weigh one thing with another, to bring together in one’s mind, literally to throw together. Mary carefully thought about all God had done concerning the baby Jesus and his future. As believers in Jesus, we too should ponder all the things God has done. We need to spend time carefully considering the truths from God’s Word.

Lord Jesus, help me to mediate on Your life and on what the Bible says. Help me to carefully consider how to apply what You have taught in Your Word in my life today.
