“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you.” John 15:7 NASB

“Ask whatever you wish” is not a blank check for getting whatever you desire, but it is part of a conditional statement. Answered prayers come when the believer is fully submitted to the Lordship of Jesus and led by His word. The believer must be completely surrendered to His will, totally committed to Jesus. The Bible becomes his only guide book. His thoughts and actions are totally controlled by Jesus and His word. Then the believer’s prayers will be completely in line with Jesus and will be answered.

Lord Jesus, I desire to learn what it means to abide with You and Your word. Fill my thoughts this day with Your words from the Bible.
