“If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” John 15:19 NASB

We love those who are like us, who hold to the same values and culture. The world, or evil culture, loves those who are evil and hates those who are good. Believers are hated by the world because they do not conform to the world’s evil ways. Jesus has chosen the believers and has separated them from the worldly, evil nature. Jesus has set the believers apart from the world.

Lord Jesus, I am awestruck when I think that You have chosen me. Help me to be separated from wrong and to live a life that is filled with Your love and holiness.
