“You did not choose Me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask of the Father in My name, He may give to you.” John 15:16 NASB
Jesus chose His disciples with a purpose in mind for them. They were to go and bear fruit that would last. This fruit could be a life of holiness or another disciple. Leading someone to faith in Jesus is an important part of fruit bearing. The disciple must be about sharing the good news of eternal life that comes only through faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord. The fruit of a holy and righteous life will also be prayers that are answered.
Lord Jesus, I am amazed that You would choose me to be Your disciple. Teach me how to bear fruit that will last, fruit of a godly life and of leading others to You.
