Yearning Crowd
John 12:13

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, ‘Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!’” John 12:13 ESV

The crowd was clamoring for someone to save them from their dismal and gloomy lives. They yearned for relief from all their troubles, especially those caused by the stifling Roman government. As Jesus approached Jerusalem this passionate crowd yelled out in hope for God’s salvation. Hosanna! Praise God for His representative who will save us and deliver us from our oppression! Today, people are still yearning and hoping for a release from the troubles and trials of life.

Lord Jesus, I cry out to You in praise for You have rescued me from my sins. Even in the midst of the turmoil of life, You my King have given me joy, peace, and hope.
