“Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess.” Hebrews 3:1 NIV
The writer of Hebrews is speaking to believers in Jesus who are declared holy, being set apart to do what God has called them to do. The command to fix one’s thoughts on Jesus means that the believers are to set their minds on Jesus, consistently thinking about Him. Every action, word, and thought must be influenced by Jesus. What would Jesus do?
Lord Jesus, You command that I get my thoughts off of myself and fix them on You. Help me today to be centered and focused on You, intentionally seeking to obey Your Word and to live a pure and holy life that exhibits Your grace, mercy, and love.
