“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.” Galatians 6:7 NASB
Paul states three brief but powerful truths. First, he warns his readers to stop being fooled. Too often we are deceived and misled by evil society into thinking an evil deed is acceptable. Second, Paul declares that God is not mocked or fooled by our actions or attitudes. Literally this word means to turn up one’s nose in contempt. We cannot disdain, contemptuously sneer, ignore, or change God’s commands. Third, Paul reminds us that what a person sows, he reaps. There will be a payday someday. The crop you plant in your life will inevitably bring a harvest in kind.
Lord Jesus, You know all that is in my heart and life. Give me wisdom to discern and do what is right so that I bring honor to You through all my life.
