Work Wholeheartedly
Ephesians 6:6
The Upward Look
by Max D. Hutto,
“Don't work only while being watched, as people-pleasers, but as slaves of Christ, do God's will from your heart.” Ephesians 6:6 CSB
Some workers only work hard, doing a good job, when they are being watched by the boss. They seek to simply please when seen by the boss, making a good impression. Then when the boss is gone, it is play time. Yet Paul teaches that the believer is to work hard and do a good job all the time, whether anyone sees him or not. He is to consistently, conscientiously, and wholeheartedly do his work, do God’s will, because he is a servant, a slave, a follower of Christ.
Lord Jesus, I seek to please You by doing my very best at whatever job or task has been given to me. May I bring You honor and glory in all that I do.
