Fathers, Instruct
Ephesians 6:4c

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” Ephesians 6:4 NASB

The parents’ job is to instruct, to teach their children how to behave and live an honorable and righteous life. This instruction starts with a newborn and continues into adulthood. The father is to be the spiritual leader of the home, instructing, nurturing, guiding, training, and encouraging his children to honor the Lord in all that they do. This instruction must include teaching them the Bible, for it is the ultimate source to know God and His saving grace and to know how to live righteously.

Lord Jesus, help me to be the example for my children in how to live following Your Word. Help me to instruct them how to live righteously, to know and follow You.
