All Perseverance
Ephesians 6:18c

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,” Ephesians 6:18 NASB

The third use of the word “all” implores the believer to keep on praying. Prayer is a vital aspect of the believer’s life that is often laid aside or pushed aside by mere trivial pursuits of life. For the believer to stand firm in the midst of the spiritual battle, he must persistently keep alert, watching and praying, talking with God and listening to His Spirit’s prompting. Prayer is not a last resort but an essential first line of defense. The believer must be vigilant, constantly on guard and consistently communicating with God.

Lord Jesus, too often I have failed to pray. Help me become a person persevering in prayer, persistently talking and listening to You.
