Pray at All Times
Ephesians 6:18b

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,” Ephesians 6:18 NASB

The second use of the word “all” declares that the believer is to pray at all times. While it would be absurd for a person to constantly go around with his head bowed and eyes closed in prayer, the believer is to pray without ceasing. Like walking with a friend where there are times of conversation and times of silence, the believer is to be constantly aware of God’s presence as he goes through his daily life. He consistently talks with God, seeking the Spirit’s guidance and leaning on the Spirit’s strength and power to work through him.

Lord Jesus, train my thoughts to be focused on You, bringing every thought and every situation to You in prayer.
