Put on His Armor
Ephesians 6:11
The Upward Look
by Max D. Hutto,
“Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.” Ephesians 6:11 NASB
The believer is a soldier in the midst of a spiritual battle. He must be fully armed, equipped, and prepared in order to stand firm against evil. Notice that it is not his armor, his own strength, that he is to put on. It is God’s armor. It is the armor that God provides which the believer must put on and use to stand firm against the onslaught of the devil and his forces. The devil is a cunning schemer who is wicked and vile and will use his wiles, his subtle tricks and schemes, in an attempt to destroy a believer.
Lord Jesus, I must face this battle in Your strength and clothed in Your armor. Teach me how to stand firm in righteousness, to hold the faith, and to proclaim Your Word.
