His Strength
Ephesians 6:10
The Upward Look
by Max D. Hutto,
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.” Ephesians 6:10 NASB
In the final section of this letter, Paul describes the strategies and resources needed to win spiritual battles. A believer cannot stand up against the old sinful nature, the sinful world culture, and the schemes of the devil in his own strength. Facing temptation and sinful desires in his own meager power will lead to failure. It is only through the Lord, His strength, His mighty power, that victory over sin can be achieved. Paul urges the believer to stand firm by relying solely and completely on the Lord. There is victory in Jesus.
Lord Jesus, give me strength as I face the schemes of evil. My own strength is weak and fails, but I can find victory over sin in my life through Your mighty power and strength.
