Children Obey
Ephesians 6:1

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.” Ephesians 6:1 NASB

With the overarching principle to submit to one another (5:21), Paul begins describing the parent child relationship. Children are to obey their parents. Parents are to bring their children up in the teachings and truths of the Lord. Children learn obedience to parents as the first step to ultimately obeying, following, and submitting to the Lord. A rebellious and disobedient child will not only have difficulty fitting into society but in surrendering to the Lordship of Christ.

Lord Jesus, may my obedience to You be an example for my children. Help me to teach my children how to be obedient and how to follow You.
