Not Even a Hint
Ephesians 5:3
The Upward Look
by Max D. Hutto,
“But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people.” Ephesians 5:3 NIV
A believer is one of God’s holy people and must conduct himself accordingly by leaving the old sinful lifestyle behind. These sinful practices include sexual immorality, which includes all forms of sex outside the covenant marriage bond between one man and one woman. Impurity describes all forms of immorality and uncleanness. Greed is covetousness, a selfish and intense desire, an uncontrolled appetite and insatiable pursuit for more of what does not belong to the person. These practices are improper for God’s people.
Lord God, help me to not pollute my mind and my life with sin. May I do what pleases and honors You.
