Spotless and Pure
Ephesians 5:27
The Upward Look
by Max D. Hutto,
“that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.” Ephesians 5:27 NASB
In this verse Paul gives the purpose, the ultimate reason, why Christ gave Himself for the church, for all people who believe and trust in Him. That day in the future, at the end of the age, the church will be presented to Him in Heaven in all glory and splendor as the perfect bride. There will be no spot of defilement and sin or wrinkle of age and decay. The church will stand before God as holy, blameless, and pure, sanctified and made clean and righteous by Christ Himself.
Lord Jesus, having placed my faith in You as my Savior and Lord, continue to work in me to make me spotless and pure, righteous and holy in You.
