Husbands Love
Ephesians 5:25

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her,” Ephesians 5:25 NASB

A husband is to love his wife! What a simple yet profound statement that expresses an amazingly complex and deep truth. The husband is to love like Christ loves with an agape, unconditional, self-giving, self-sacrificing, selfless love that seeks the highest good, the absolute best for his wife. This love is not an emotional feeling but an act of the will. It is a choice to do what is best for his wife no matter the cost or consequences. When a husband loves his wife with this agape love, the wife will find it easy to submit to his leadership.

Lord Jesus, I stand amazed at Your great love and how You gave. May my life and my relationship with my wife overflow with agape love.
