Thankfulness
Ephesians 5:20

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,” Ephesians 5:20 ESV

Another aspect or characteristic of being filled with the Spirit is a grateful attitude that permeates all of the believer’s life. Having experienced the mercy and grace of God in Christ is enough to cause the believer to exude thankfulness to God, being forever thankful for salvation and new life in Christ. Yet the believer is to always give thanks for everything, even the struggles and hard times of life that cause him to draw closer to God, who is our refuge and strength.

Lord Jesus, may my heart be filled with gratitude for what You have done for me. May I constantly and continually offer my thanks for all things to God the Father.
