Pleasing the Lord
Ephesians 5:10

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“Walk as children of light . . . trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.” Ephesians 5:8b-10 NASB

In order for a believer’s walk, his lifestyle, to reflect the Light of Christ, the believer must learn and do what is pleasing to the Lord. The child of God needs to fill his mind, not with worldly things but with what is godly and holy. The believer must fill his life with the Word of God, the Bible, and with prayer. Discerning what pleases the Lord through daily reading and studying of the Bible is essential to faithfully walking in Christ. The believer must be a lifelong learner of Scripture, getting to know God and learning how to obey Him.

Lord Jesus, help me to study Your Word, the Bible, and to become obedient in following You. May my life be pleasing to You, honoring and glorifying You.
