Be Imitators
Ephesians 5:1

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.” Ephesians 5:1 ESV

Referring back to the previous verse that describes how God forgave and showed kindness and compassion to the believer, the believer is to likewise forgive and show kindness and compassion to others. As a much loved child of God, the believer is to imitate God. The word imitator also could be expressed as the word mimic. The believer is to mimic or act like God would act. Just like a child wishes to be like his father, the child of God strives to be like God, to show compassion, kindness, and forgiveness and to walk in love just as Christ loved us.

Lord God, help me to act like You, to live my life in a way that honors and glorifies You. Let my daily life reflect Your love and grace.
