Christ Descended
Ephesians 4:9

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“(In saying, "He ascended," what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth?” Ephesians 4:9 ESV

This Christ who ascended into Heaven is the same Christ who had descended from Heaven to earth. This incarnate Emmanuel, God with us, came to earth and was born a baby and laid in a manger. Jesus, God the Son, came to die on Calvary’s cross to pay the price for our sins, to pay our ransom, to save us, to be our Redeemer. He died and was buried in the depths of the earth. Then by His mighty power, He arose from the dead! Jesus Christ, the victor over sin and death, is alive forevermore, ascended into Heaven’s glory!

Lord Jesus, You descended from Heaven to provide salvation and eternal life to all who trust in You. I lift my voice in praise to You, my ascended Savior and Lord!
