Steal No Longer
Ephesians 4:28

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need.” Ephesians 4:28 NASB

Stealing, pilfering, taking something that does not belong to you, is a common and widespread characteristic of the old human nature. The believer is to lay aside this sinful and deceptive practice and steal no more. Instead the believer is to live righteously by working and doing an honest day’s labor. This honest toil will provide for his needs and also allow him to share with others in their time of need. Instead of selfishness, which is at the root of stealing, a believer is to be generous to others.

Lord Jesus, help me to live righteously by working, doing something useful and beneficial for my family and others.
