Sensual and Impure
Ephesians 4:19

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.” Ephesians 4:19 NASB

Paul continues to paint the picture of the hardened and calloused heart of an unbeliever by describing the motivation that drives their actions. They greedily seek and lustfully yearn for whatever can momentarily please and excite their senses. They yearn to fill their lives with all that is impure, indecent, lewd, lustful, promiscuous, perverse, and profane simply for their own selfish desires. Paul reminds believers that they are not to be driven by these desires so they no longer walk like an unbeliever.

Lord Jesus, I yearn for my heart and my life to be filled with all that is pure and holy. Help me to live in a way that brings You glory and honor.
