Evangelists
Ephesians 4:11b

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,” Ephesians 4:11 NASB

Evangelists are gifted by Jesus to share the gospel simply and effectively. Typically an evangelist has an itinerant work, traveling from place to place with the express purpose of proclaiming the good news of salvation through faith in Jesus. Many evangelists serve as missionaries, taking the gospel to people who have never heard of Jesus or who have relatively few believers in their locality. While all believers are called to be witnesses and to share the gospel, evangelists are uniquely gifted in leading others to Jesus.

Lord Jesus, give boldness to those You have gifted as evangelists. Though I am not an evangelist, help me to share with others Your great mercy, grace, and love.
