Dwelling, Rooted, and Grounded
Ephesians 3:17

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love,” Ephesians 3:17 NASB

Paul prays that the believers would continue to grow in their faith. The initial faith of salvation must continue to grow into a sanctifying faith that allows the indwelling and abiding Christ to reign and rule all aspects of one’s life. When Christ is at home in the heart and life of the believer, there will be faithful obedience to His Word and His will. Like a seed planted in rich fertile soil, this growing faith must be rooted and grounded in a deep love, in God’s love, that nourishes and stabilizes the life.

Lord Jesus, may You dominate all my life so that I am growing close to You, being guided and directed by Your Word. May Your love and grace flow in and through my life.
